The use of light weight building materials is now increasingly popular. Not only light steel material used for house building structures, now one of the raw materials for making walls, namely lightweight brick, is also in great demand and is starting to compete with the demand for conventional bricks.
Its light but solid nature so that it remains resistant to shock is one of the many advantages of lightweight brick. In addition, lightweight bricks are also more assured of the quality of the material.
In contrast to brick or red brick, which is still traditionally produced, lightweight brick is a fabricated material that is produced using sophisticated machines. The raw material for lightweight brick is concrete (cement, quartz sand, and gypsum) mixed with aluminum paste.
Light brick is also known by its market name, namely brick hebel or brick celcon. There are two types of lightweight bricks that are commonly used as raw materials for building walls, namely Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) and Cellular Lightweight Concrete (CLC).
These two lightweight bricks are made from a mixture of the same material, but the composition of each material is different. The drying process for these two lightweight bricks is also different. AAC is dried using high pressure, while CLC is dried naturally.
Advantages of Lightweight Brick
· Strength as strong as concrete
· Good Insulator
· Faster Installation Process
· Easier Wall Finishing
· Saving House Construction Costs
